This study is based on Hebrews chapter 1 and Ecclesiastics chapter 9:5,6&10.
The first chapter of Hebrews contrasts the position of the angels and the position of Christ. God has spoken words concerning Christ that are not to be applied to the angels. They are “sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation,” but Christ, as Mediator, is the great Minister in the work of redemption. The Holy Spirit is His representative in our world, to execute the divine purpose of bringing to fallen man power from above, that he may be an overcomer. All who enter into a covenant with Jesus Christ become by adoption the children of God. They are cleansed by the regenerating power of the Word, and angels are commissioned to minister unto them (Manuscript 57, 1907). The ministration of holy angels, as presented in the Scriptures, is a truth most comforting and precious to every follower of Christ. But the Bible teaching upon this point has been obscured and perverted by the errors of popular theology. The doctrine of natural immortality, first borrowed from the pagan philosophy, and in the darkness of the great apostasy incorporated into the Christian faith, has supplanted the truth, so plainly taught in Scripture, that “the dead know not anything.” Multitudes have come to believe that it is spirits of the dead who are the “ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation.” And this notwithstanding the testimony of Scripture to the existence of heavenly angels, and their connection with the history of man, before the death of a human being.
The doctrine of man’s consciousness in death, especially the belief that spirits of the dead return to minister to the living, has prepared the way for modern spiritualism. ( The Great Controversy, Chapter 34. )
Christ has warned his disciples "take heed that no man deceive you." This warning was not exclusively for them, but for all the successive generation who shall profess faith in Christ. The bible is very plain. The factors that leads to various interpretation of the written word, is a un-renewed heart and disobedience.
The scriptures is clear on the work of the angels. They are to aid us in salvation, whether it be protecting us from evil angels or influences. Psalms 34:7. Angels are not our dead friends, or relatives. This is contrary to the bible, in the book of Genesis, after man's banishment from Eden God commissioned an angels to keep man out of Eden, Genesis 3:24. This was before the death of any human being had taken place. This disproves that man is the ministering spirits, sent forth to the heirs of salvation.
The angels are intelligent beings capable of any line of work God may call them to do. That is because they have breath of life, after all that is what God place into Adam before any instruction was given him. Scripture teaches "that the dead know not anything." Ecclesiastics 9:5,6&10. There is two ways to understand this passage. The first whatever the living is, the dead is the opposite. Second, imagine when Adam was created by God he had heart, lung, and brain; all which are needed to make life possible. It was until God breath into his nostril was he able to perceive and function, not so with the dead for they have no breath of life. In other words it's is extremely impossible for those who have died to minister to us.
Finally brethren, the teaching that men are alive immediately after death, is of the devil. It is his first lie he told in Eden, Genesis3:4. If you believe the devil and teach his doctrine, than you belong to him. If you belong to him than you will share his torment and destruction. Please reconsider your ways on this matter. May this study be a blessing to you and your family.
